    Vehicle Speed Control / Throttle

    Defect, in the NHTSA record
    KTM North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2023 390 Duke and 2022-2024 RC 390 motorcycles. Water may enter the throttle (e-throttle) control unit and cause it to fail, resulting in loss of drive power while riding.
    Consequence, in the NHTSA record
    Loss of drive power while riding increases the risk of a crash or injury.
    Remedy, in the NHTSA record
    KTM will inspect and replace the e-throttle control, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 30, 2026. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov March 31, 2026. KTM's number for this recall is KTB2606 & HTB2603. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V598.

    Structure / Motorcycle / Kickstand/Center Stand

    Defect, in the NHTSA record
    KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain 2025 390 Adventure R, 390 SMC R, 390 Adventure X, and 390 Enduro R motorcycles. Engine vibrations may cause the side stand spring to break and the side stand to fall to the ground.
    Consequence, in the NHTSA record
    A motorcycle side stand that falls to the ground while riding can shut off the ignition, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
    Remedy, in the NHTSA record
    Owners are advised to secure the side stand before riding the motorcycle until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will replace the side stand spring and install a new side stand sensor retaining plate, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on February 17, 2026. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090. The manufacturer's number for this recall is KTB2514. The information in your report suggests that KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) may have been aware of this issue more than five business days before filing a report with NHTSA. Please be reminded that under Federal law, this agency is to be notified of all safety defect and/or noncompliance decisions within five business days. 49 CFR 573.6. Significant civil penalties can be assessed for this violation.

    Defect, in the NHTSA record
    KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain 2024 Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, 2024-2025 390 Duke, 2025 390 SMC R, 390 Enduro R, 390 Adventure X, and 390 Adventure R motorcycles. The engine control software may cause the engine to stall at low rpms, resulting in a loss of power.

    A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash or injury.
    Remedy, in the NHTSA record
    KTM and Husqvarna dealers will inspect the motorcycles and update the electronic control unit engine management system (ECU EMS) software, free of charge.     KTM North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2024 390 Duke, 250 Duke, 990 Duke, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 motorcycles. The seal on the fuel filler cap may develop cracks and leak fuel.
    Consequence, in the NHTSA record
    A fuel leak increases the risk of fire or injury.

    Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel cap gasket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 15, 2025. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090.     Electrical System / Wiring

    KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling all 2020-2022 1290 Super Duke R and Super Duke R EVO motorcycles. The main wiring harness may be misrouted or missing parts, which can cause wiring harness damage and result in an electrical short-circuit or engine stall.
    Consequence, in the NHTSA record
    An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.
    Remedy, in the NHTSA record
    Dealers will inspect and repair the main wiring harness installation, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 26, 2023. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090. KTM's number for this recall is KTB2211.
