Eberspaecher Climate Cntrl Syst Intl GmbH (Eberspacher) is recalling certain Hydronic L-II heaters with part number, HL2-16/24/30/35 produced May 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024. The burner units may release excessive exhaust gas.
- Consequence, in the NHTSA record
Excessive exhaust gas can result in smoke poisoning or cause a vehicle fire, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy, in the NHTSA record
Owners are advised not to use the heaters until they have been repaired. Dealers will rework, and calibrate to avoid excessive exhaust gas values, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact Eberspacher customer service at 1-800-387-4800.

Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain Eberspächer Hydronic L-II Heaters, with part number 870012. The coolant heaters may generate excessive exhaust gas and overheat.
- Consequence, in the NHTSA record
Excessive exhaust gas may increase the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, and an overheating heater increases the risk of a fire.
- Remedy, in the NHTSA record
Owners of vehicles that are equipped with these coolant heaters are advised not to operate the heaters until they have been repaired. Prevost will inspect the coolant heaters, replace the damaged components, and clean the heater's internal components, as necessary. In addition, Prevost will adjust the air to fuel ratio. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2024. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is ER24-14.
