FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Originally issued November 1, 1988, Revised June 21, 2004 Release # 88-9l Siemens Announces Free I-T-E Circuit Breaker Box Inspection Program WASHINGTON, DC - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Circuit Protection Division of Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. of Alpharetta, Georgia is voluntarily offering free inspection and correction of certain of its I-T-E brand circuit-breaker boxes (load centers) installed between September 1986 and May 1987. Siemens is extending a program begun in November 1986 when it discovered that some of the circuit-breaker boxes were manufactured using components of an incorrect material, which could cause overheating and malfunction. The involved ITE circuit-breaker boxes, or "load centers" can be identified by a five digit code marked on the top of the wiring diagram label inside the door which is opened to reset the circuit breakers.
