Carpets & Rugs Recalled by Keller NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 19, 1975 Release # 75-041 CPSC Provisionally Accepts Consent Order With Keller Industries, Inc.. WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 19, 1975) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission today provisionally accepted a consent order signed by Keller Industries, Inc. requiring the company to recall certain carpets and rugs which fail to meet Federal flammability standards. (DOC F l-70). Keller Industries also trades under the name American Carpet Mills. Non-complying goods were previously pulled from inventory and the distribution chain. The carpets and rugs involved in the recall are in style "Caravan" and were sold nationwide from January 27, 1972 to May 12, 1972. The style "Caravan" carpet is composed of 100 percent polyester pile, is shaggy in nature and comes with a jute back. It comes in various colors and is sold in 12 foot wide rolls which can be cut to varying lengths.
