The involved jack bracket assemblies were improperly manufactured. These units were supplied with a six-inch diameter plate-type foot of new design, instead of the folding tripod bottom type assembly. The plate-type foot permits the jack to move or creep while supporting the camper. This could cause the jack assembly to collapse.

The involved furnaces contain an electrical transformer, which is a component part of a furnace electrical power converter, that may overheat and fail. This failure can cause the transformer insulation to vaporize. This vapor may ignite and be expelled from the converter enclosure.
